Photoacclimation of cryptophytes and diatoms to light variability in the Western Antarctic Peninsula
Abstract Meltwater stratification during austral summer along the rapidly warming Western Antarctic Peninsula (WAP) exposes coastal phytoplankton to sudden light shifts. Such variability is thought to modulate phytoplankton dynamics, yet the photoacclimation capacity of Antarctic phytoplankton, especially cryptophytes, remains unclear.

Abstract Forest cover is positively associated with fish biomass and fisheries yield in the Amazon River floodplain, and many species enter flooded forests to feed, spawn, or seek refuge from predation. Floating macrophyte beds, known as floating meadows, in Amazon floodplains support high fish diversity and serve as nursery habitat for many fishes of ...

Genomic Data Are Not Commodities: Advocating for Collective Responsibility in Open Science
ABSTRACT The availability of genomic and genetic data is fundamental to advancing biogeographical research, particularly in biodiversity‐rich but data‐poor regions such as the South Atlantic. Yet, despite increasing mandates for open science, researchers face significant barriers to accessing datasets from published studies.

Collecting data from local sources markedly further strengthens global biodiversity databases by adding species not previously included in international datasets. Furthermore, the addition of these data helps to understand spatial and temporal biases that potentially influence abundance trends at both national and global levels.

Food Intake According to Clock Gene Polymorphisms: A Systematic Review
The study used PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases, screening with Rayyan QCRY. Ten studies were included, totaling 12 115 adults (40.8 ± 8.6 years, mostly women). SNPs analyzed were CLOCK (rs1801260, rs4580704, rs3749474) and Cry1/Cry2 (rs2287161, rs11605924). No studies examined Bmal, PER, Rev‐erb, or ROR SNPs. Only Rahati et al.
