Transscaphoid Transcapitate Transtriquetral Perilunate Fracture–Dislocation: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Hand Surgery, 2006
We present a rare stage III greater arc fracture-dislocation of the carpus including transscaphoid, transcapitate, and transtriquetral dorsal perilunate fracture-dislocation.

Trans-Triquetral Dorsal Perilunate Fracture Dislocation

open access: yesJournal of Hand Surgery: European Volume, 2007
A rare case of trans-triquetral dorsal perilunate dislocation is described. It differs from the Mayfield and Johnson theory of progressive perilunar instability in greater arc injuries which states that the injury passes from the radial to the ulnar carpal bones and soft tissues in stages.

Perilunate fracture-dislocations: definition, diagnosis and treatment

open access: yesMinerva Orthopedics, 2021
The wrist represents a complex articular syncytium designed to develop grip and traction forces while maintaining high stability. In the case of direct trauma to the carpus, a perilunate dislocation of the carpus may occur, possibly associated with fracture of the carpal bones.

Transscaphoid, transcapitate, perilunate fracture dislocation (Scaphocapitate syndrome)

Skeletal Radiology, 1983
Five cases of transscaphoid, transcapitate, perilunate fracture dislocation have been presented with a discussion of the radiologic findings, mechanism of injury, and method of treatment. Although a total of only 23 cases have now been reported in the literature, this type of injury is probably not rare as we have seen two cases within a span of six ...

Perilunate dislocation and fracture dislocation of the wrist: Outcomes and long-term prognostic factors

open access: yesOrthopaedics and Traumatology: Surgery and Research, 2022
International audienceIntroduction: Perilunate dislocations and fracture-dislocations are severe injuries that often have serious functional sequelae. Our goal was to evaluate the long-term clinical and radiological results of these perilunate injuries ...

Perihamate-Peripisiform-Transtriquetrum Axial Ulnar Fracture Dislocation of the Hand With an Associated Perilunate Injury

open access: yesJournal of Hand Surgery, 2018
Axial fracture-dislocations are rare, high-energy injuries. Although cases of axial fracture-dislocations are reported in the literature, there are few reports of a patient who suffered a combined perilunate injury with an ulnar axial dislocation of the ...

Perilunate Dislocation and Perilunate Fracture-dislocation

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon, 2011
Perilunate dislocations and perilunate fracture-dislocations usually result from high-energy traumatic injuries to the wrist and are associated with a characteristic spectrum of bony and ligamentous damage. Radiographic evaluation of the wrist reveals loss of normal radiocarpal and intercarpal colinearity and bony insult, which may be overlooked at the

Perilunate Dislocations and Fracture Dislocations

Hand Clinics, 2015
Perilunate dislocations and fracture dislocations are the result of an axial load with hyperextension and ulnar deviation of the wrist, combined with intercarpal supination. Prompt treatment injuries is essential. There is a high rate of missed or incorrect diagnosis. In the past, closed management was recommended.

Perilunate Dislocations and Fracture Dislocations

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2012
Perilunate dislocations and fracture dislocations are high-energy injuries that can result in pain, stiffness, weakness, or disability if inappropriately treated. Prompt recognition and surgical treatment with anatomic reduction of carpal malalignment improve the likelihood of optimal, long-term clinical success and patient satisfaction.

Palmar Perilunate Fracture-Dislocation of the Carpus

Journal of Hand Surgery, 1998
We report an uncommon palmar translunate, transhamate carpal fracture dislocation. CT-scans with three-dimensional reconstruction were most helpful for the assessment of the injury, which was treated operatively through a palmar approach. The lunate and hamate fractures were fixed using mini-screws and the radial styloid fracture and the scaphoid were ...
