Chaotic Behaviors and Coexisting Attractors in a New Nonlinear Dissipative Parametric Chemical Oscillator

open access: yesComplexity, 2022
In this study, complex dynamics of Briggs–Rauscher reaction system is investigated analytically and numerically. First, the Briggs–Rauscher reaction system is reduced into a new nonlinear parametric oscillator.

Effects of bias current and control of multistability in 3D hopfield neural network

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
This work studies the dynamics of a three dimensional Hopfield neural network focusing on the impact of bias terms. In the presence of bias terms, the models displays an odd symmetry and experiences typical behaviors including period doubling ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Global Period-Doubling Bifurcation of Quadratic Fractional Second Order Difference Equation

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2014
We investigate the local stability and the global asymptotic stability of the difference equation xn+1=αxn2+βxnxn-1+γxn-1/Axn2+Bxnxn-1+Cxn-1, n=0,1,… with nonnegative parameters and initial conditions such that Axn2+Bxnxn-1+Cxn-1>0, for all n≥0.

Bifurcation and chaos behaviors of Lyapunov function controlled PWM boost converter

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
In this paper, we have derived the mathematical model of the Lyapunov function-based boost converter, which is essentially a voltage and current double-loop controller, and studied the stability of the closed-loop modulation system.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Effects of Calcium-Channel Noise on Dynamics of Excitation-Contraction Coupling in Paced Cardiac Cells

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2013
We study a simple discrete model with the impact of calcium-channel noise on the beat-to-beat dynamics of cardiac cells. The effects of the noise are assessed by bifurcation analysis and power spectrum analysis, respectively.

From period-doubling to folding in stiff film/soft substrate system: The role of substrate nonlinearity

open access: yes, 2015
Uniaxial compressed stiff films on soft substrates can evolve into the period-doubling and folding instabilities, beyond the onset of sinusoidal wrinkling.

Period-doubling-bifurcation readout for a Josephson qubit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a threshold detector with an operation principle, based on a parametric period-doubling bifurcation in an externally pumped nonlinear resonance circuit.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...
