Doubling of the gallbladder in children with intrauterine growth retardation: two clinical cases

open access: yesЛечащий Врач
Background. Several variants of congenital gallbladder anomalies are distinguished: by position (median, suprahepatic, intrahepatic), shape (kinks, constrictions), number (doubling or tripling), presence of partitions in the gallbladder.

Period-doubling bifurcation and chaos control in a discrete-time mosquito model [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Ecology and Software, 2017
This article deals with the study of some qualitative properties of a discrete-time mosquito Model. It is shown that there exists period-doubling bifurcation for wide range of bifurcation parameter for the unique positive steady-state of given system. In

Bifurcation and chaos in a discrete mutualism model with proportional harvesting rate

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2021
In this paper, we use the Euler method to introduce a discrete mutualism model with proportional harvesting rate and analyze its dynamics. Using the center manifold theorem, we show that the model is subjected to a period-doubling bifurcation.

Dynamical complexities in a tri-trophic hybrid food chain model with Holling type II and Crowley–Martin functional responses

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2010
We study how predator behavior influences community dynamics of predatorprey systems. It turns out that predator behavior plays a dominant role in community dynamics. The hybrid model studied in this paper reveals that period-doubling and period-doubling

Sequence of Routes to Chaos in a Lorenz-Type System

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2020
This paper reports a new bifurcation pattern observed in a Lorenz-type system. The pattern is composed of a main bifurcation route to chaos (n=1) and a sequence of sub-bifurcation routes with n=3,4,5,…,14 isolated sub-branches to chaos.

Period-doubling reconstructions of semiconductor partial dislocations

open access: yes, 2015
Using hybrid density-functional calculations, we present period-doubling reconstructions of a 90° partial dislocation in GaAs, for which the periodicity of like-atom dimers along the dislocation line varies from one to two, to four dimers. The electronic

Does Kepler unveil the mystery of the Blazhko effect? First detection of period doubling in Kepler Blazhko RR Lyrae stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The first detection of the period doubling phenomenon is reported in the Kepler RR Lyrae stars RR Lyr, V808 Cyg and V355 Lyr. Interestingly, all these pulsating stars show Blazhko modulation. The period doubling manifests itself as alternating maxima and

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Perturbed period-doubling bifurcation. I. Theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 1990
The influence of perturbations (a small, near-resonant signal and noise) on a driven dissipative dynamical system that is close to undergoing a period-doubling bifurcation is investigated. It is found that the system is very sensitive, and that periodic perturbations change its stability in a well-defined way that is a function of the amplitude and the

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
