Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Mathematical and Statistical Analysis of Doubling Times to Investigate the Early Spread of Epidemics: Application to the COVID-19 Pandemic

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Simple mathematical tools are needed to quantify the threat posed by emerging and re-emerging infectious disease outbreaks using minimal data capturing the outbreak trajectory.

Property of period-doubling bifurcations

open access: yes, 2005
The period-doubling bifurcation leads a T-periodic solution to a 2T-periodic solution. We develop the relation between these two periodic solutions analytically for a general parameter-dependent dynamic system.

Period-doubling reconstructions of semiconductor partial dislocations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Atomic-scale understanding and control of dislocation cores is of great technological importance, because they act as recombination centers for charge carriers in optoelectronic devices.

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

A new chaotic attractor from 2D discrete mapping via border-collision period-doubling scenario

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2005
The following map is studied: (x,y)→(1+a(|x|−y2)+y,bx). It is proved numerically that this model can display two different chaotic attractors, one is new and the other is a Lozi-type attractor.

Issues, challenges and strategies for doubling the farmers’ income in India – A review

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2019
The Government of India in its annual budget 2016-17 set a policy target of doubling farmers' income by 2022. Agriculture sustains livelihood for more than half of the India's total population.

Chaotic Behaviors and Coexisting Attractors in a New Nonlinear Dissipative Parametric Chemical Oscillator

open access: yesComplexity, 2022
In this study, complex dynamics of Briggs–Rauscher reaction system is investigated analytically and numerically. First, the Briggs–Rauscher reaction system is reduced into a new nonlinear parametric oscillator.

Effects of bias current and control of multistability in 3D hopfield neural network

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
This work studies the dynamics of a three dimensional Hopfield neural network focusing on the impact of bias terms. In the presence of bias terms, the models displays an odd symmetry and experiences typical behaviors including period doubling ...

Period-doubling density waves in a chain [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The authors consider a one-dimensional chain of N+2 identical particles with nearest-neighbour Lennard-Jones interaction and uniform friction. The chain is driven by a prescribed periodic motion of one end particle, with frequency v and 'strength ...
