Periodic steady vortices in a stagnation-point flow

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1994
A stagnation point flow of the form U = (0, Ay, — Az) is unstable to three-dimensional disturbances. It has been shown that the vorticity components of such a disurbance that are perpendicular to the direction of the diverging flow will decay, and that the parallel component of vorticity can grow.

A stagnation event in the deep South Atlantic during the last interglacial period

Science, 2014
During the last interglacial period, global temperatures were ~2°C warmer than at present and sea level was 6 to 8 meters higher. Southern Ocean sediments reveal a spike in authigenic uranium 127,000 years ago, within the last interglacial, reflecting decreased oxygenation of deep water by Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW).

On Stock-Price Fluctuations in the Periods of Booms and Stagnations

2007
The statistical properties of the fluctuations of financial prices have been widely researched since Mandelbrot [1] and Fama [2] presented an evidence that return distributions can be well described by a symmetric Levy stable law with tail index close to 1.7.
