L-PRF: A “Super” Biomaterial for Naturally Guided Hard/Soft Tissue Bioengineering and Regeneration of Oro-Dental, Periodontal and Jaw Defects [PDF]
Leukocyte and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) is a 3-D autogenous biomaterial derived via simple and rapid centrifugation of whole blood patient samples, in the absence of anti-coagulants, bovine thrombin, additives or any gelifying agents. A relatively new

Mechanical loading induces a previously unrecognized Sox9+Acan+ transitional mesenchymal cell population in the periodontal ligament that promotes osteoclastogenesis via the FGF2–FGFR2–ERK axis. Targeting this mechanoresponsive stromal population using a localized GelMA@siRNA delivery strategy attenuates pathological osteoclast overactivation and root ...

This study presents a novel strategy for periodontitis treatment by co‐delivering a membrane‐ and ribosome‐targeting antimicrobial peptide GF and Irisin through a pH‐responsive metal‐organic framework. The system enables sequential release, providing rapid antibacterial action, anti‐inflammatory and antioxidative effects, as well as promoting bone ...

Exosome as bioactive nanovesicle for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in periodontitis
This review introduces the mechanism that exosomes participate in the pathogenesis of periodontitis and their potential as biomarkers for early diagnosis and summarizes the application of cell‐ or plant‐derived exosomes or engineered exosomes in periodontitis or periodontal regeneration while proposing the perspective of translational application of ...

Abstract Background This study investigates the impact of disruptions in testosterone levels on bone remodeling, root resorption, and periodontal ligament (PDL) during orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) in a pubertal male rat model. Methods Testosterone deficiency was induced through orchiectomy, and the anabolic‐androgenic steroid (AAS, testosterone ...

Periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics (PAOO): Past to present
Different methods have been proposed and practiced to date by authors to reduce the treatment time for conventional orthodontic therapy. One of the main interdisciplinary approach to accelerate the tooth movement is the periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontic procedure (PAOO) introduced by the Wilcko brothers in 2001.

PIEZO1 is highly correlated with mechanical stimulation, controlling bone growth and remodeling, while showing specific distribution characteristics under distinct loads. Upon dialectical review, this manuscript proposes that PIEZO1 could serve as a target for osteoporosis and a quantitative indicator for monitoring bone health in real‐time.
