Congenital heart disease surgery in infants requires cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), which increases the risk of brain injury. Conventional heart‐lung machines (HLMs) cannot operate inside MRI scanners, limiting real‐time assessment of cerebral changes. We developed an MR‐conditional HLM and tested it in piglets during CPB.

Cystic cervical thymoma in a cat
Abstract A 12‐year‐old, female, neutered Persian cat was presented with a 4‐month history of a progressively enlarging, soft, fluctuating, ventral cervical mass that intermittently caused dysphagia and coughing. Repeated aspiration temporarily reduced the swelling.

Exploratory Laparotomy After Routine Cardiac Surgery: Results From 17,000 Patients
Exploratory laparotomy is rare after open‐heart surgery, and it was performed for gastrointestinal complications that occurred in the context of other severe postoperative complications. Several factors were associated with the need for exlap, including increasing age, pre‐existing renal and vascular disease, and pre‐ and post‐operative shock. ABSTRACT
