Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

Synergistic Osteogenesis After Co‐Administration of cmRNAs Encoding BMP‐2 and BMP‐7 Utilizing a Transcript‐Activated Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the dual delivery of BMP‐2/‐7 coding cmRNAs for bone healing is demonstrated as feasible, safe, and highly osteogenic. Compared to single BMP‐2 or BMP‐7 cmRNAs, the combination enhances the production of both mineral and organic components of the extracellular matrix when delivered using a collagen‐HA scaffold, supporting ...

A subset of mobilized human hematopoietic stem cells express germ layer lineage genes which can be modulated by culture conditions

open access: yesStem Cell Research & Therapy, 2018
Background Adult bone marrow contains stem cells that replenish the myeloid and lymphoid lineages. A subset of human and mouse CD34+ bone marrow stem cells can be propagated in culture to autonomously express embryonic stem cell genes and embryonic germ ...

Mechanistic relationship between the vagal afferent pathway, central nervous system and peripheral organs in appetite regulation

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, 2016
The hypothalamus is a center of food intake and energy metabolism regulation. Information signals from peripheral organs are mediated through the circulation or the vagal afferent pathway and input into the hypothalamus, where signals are integrated to ...

Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

On Dispersion of a Reactive Solute in a Pulsatile Flow of a Two-Fluid Model

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2019
The present paper is a study on dispersion of reactive solute in an oscillatory flow of a two-fluid, three-layer Casson-Newtonian continuum using Aris-Barton’s approach. A two-fluid model of blood flow has been considered, the fluid in the central region
