LIN28B Promotes Cancer Cell Dissemination and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Children diagnosed with high‐risk neuroblastoma have a 5‐year event‐free survival rate of less than 50% and poor outcomes after recurrence. Deregulation of the LIN28B oncogene can be addressed in these patients. Upregulation of LIN28B is shown to support the metastatic cascade.

Mapping Motor Neuroplasticity after Successful Surgical Brachial Plexus Reconstruction Using Navigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (nTMS)

open access: yesNeurology International
Brachial plexus reconstruction (BPR) consists of the complex surgical restoration of nerve structures. To further understand the underlying motor cortex changes and evaluate neuroplasticity after a successful surgery, we performed a navigated ...

The Effects of Surgical Antiseptics and Time Delays on RNA Isolated From Human and Rodent Peripheral Nerves

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2019
Peripheral Nerve Injury (PNI) is common following blunt or penetrating trauma with an estimated prevalence of 2% among the trauma population. The resulting economic and societal impacts are significant.

Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes in Conjunction with Roflumilast Ameliorate Chronic Kidney Disease Through the Modulation of Fibrosis and Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The novelty of this study showed that the injection of exosomes produced from ADMSCs in combination with Roflumilast poses a more favorable therapeutic outcome for CKD induced by Adriamycin, compared to therapy with exosomes or Roflumilast alone. Roflumilast and exosomes treatment lowered the expression of the apoptotic, fibrotic, and inflammatory ...

Impact of Various Rotary Friction Welding Process Parameters on the Mechanical Properties of a Steel–Aluminum Joint

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rotary friction welding of steel E355 and the aluminum alloy EN AW‐6082 can lead to the formation of brittle intermetallic phases. The primary process parameters are varied in order to determine their influence on this intermetallic phase formation and the resulting mechanical properties.

Peripheral nerve injury and axonotmesis: State of the art and recent advances

open access: yes, 2018
Peripheral nerve lesions are frequent occurrences in both human and animal patients, leading to important physiological and labor complications that affect the quality of life of those who suffer the injury. More severe injuries are often associated with

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...
