Few‐Layered Conductive Graphene Foams for Electrical Transdifferentiation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Into Schwann Cell‐Like Phenotypes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Few‐layered three dimansional conductive graphene foams are promising cytocompatible platforms to transdifferentiate mesenchymal stem cells into Schwann cell‐like phenotypes using electrical and microstructural cues. Applied electrical stimulation conditions resulted in activation of MAPK, neurotrphin and RAS signaling pathways that led to upregulation

Use of Peripheral Nerve Blocks with Sedation for Total Knee Arthroplasty in a Patient with Contraindication for General Anesthesia

open access: yesCase Reports in Anesthesiology, 2015
Although peripheral nerve blocks are commonly used to provide postoperative analgesia after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and other lower extremity procedures, these blocks are rarely used for intraoperative anesthesia.

Increased Anti‐Psoriatic Effect of Anti‐Inflammatory Dendrimers Using Fluid Catanionic Vesicle‐Based Topical Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Next‐Generation Psoriasis Therapy – With advanced dendrimer‐based formulations, this study paves the way for highly effective, skin‐permeable treatments. Encapsulated in fluid catanionic vesicles, IMD‐006 and its analogues show promising anti‐psoriatic effects offering a targeted, non‐invasive approach to managing chronic skin inflammation.

Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Nerve Block as Post-Operative Management of Lower Abdominal Surgery in Ksatria Airlangga Floating Hospital

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Anesthesiology and Reanimation (IJAR)
Introduction: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) implementation in remote areas by operating hospital ships is immensely helpful due to high patient turnover, reducing costs, and minimizing the effects of surgical stress.

Plasma‐Polymerized Nanoparticles Presenting Fibrillin‐1 Drive Rapid Re‐Endothelialization of Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Commercial vascular grafts are made from ePTFE, a highly hydrophobic, foreign material that fails at a high rate in small‐diameter applications. Plasma polymer nanoparticles (PPN) are a versatile material functionalisation tool, used here to present fibrillin‐1 fragment PF8 on the graft surface.

Effects of magnetic fields-stimulated 3D-Schwann cell-secreted extracellular vesicles regulate differentiation of neural stem cells and nerve regeneration

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The nerve guide conduit is a favorable implant for repairing peripheral nerve injuries, which is vital for promoting nerve regeneration. Therefore, we integrated magnetic 3D Schwann cells (SC) into a 3D-printed nerve conduit made from polyurethane to ...

Living Materials Approach for In Situ Bio‐Polymers Production Using Bacillus Paralicheniformis in Microneedles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dissolvable microneedle (MN) device containing Bacillus paralicheniformis. The polymeric matrix encapsulates and protects the bacteria, preserving their viability while enabling in situ production and release of γ‐polyglutamic acid. The bacteria are delivered into the skin via 500 µm‐long microneedles, and remain detectable on the skin 24 h post ...
