Radiofrequency spectral analysis of EBUS for peripheral pulmonary lesions

Respirology, 2018
ABSTRACTBackground and objectiveWe previously reported that histogram‐based quantitative evaluation for endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS) B‐mode images could differentiate between benign and malignant lesions. However, these images were generated from reconstructed raw radiofrequency (RF) signals and had some limitations.

Differential diagnosis of coccidioidomycosis manifested by peripheral pulmonary lesion

Pirogov Russian Journal of Surgery
We present this clinical case as a demonstration of difficulties in differential diagnosis of pulmonary coccidioidomycosis. Differential diagnostics of peripheral pulmonary lesion performed using bronchoscopy with BAL and TBCB and video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) biopsy.

Safety of cryobiopsy for peripheral pulmonary lesions in older people

Respiratory Investigation
Cryobiopsy enables bronchoscopists to perform high-quality, large, and entirely circumferential sampling and has been reported to improve the diagnostic yield of peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) when combined with conventional bronchoscopic procedures. However, little is known regarding the safety of cryobiopsy for PPLs in older patients.

Virtual Bronchoscopic Navigation for Peripheral Pulmonary Lesions

2016
Bronchoscopy may be limited in terms of direct endobronchial visualization of farther bronchial subsegments. Therefore, it is necessary to study the computed tomography (CT) images prior to examination in order to count the number of bronchial bifurcations from the trachea before reaching the lesion.

Endobronchial ultrasound in the diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions

European Respiratory Journal, 2011
Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) is a useful diagnostic tool to localize peripheral pulmonary lesions (PPLs) and to guide transbronchial biopsy (TBB). We retrospectively evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of EBUS-guided TBB in comparison with a definitive diagnosis established by transthoracic CT-guided needle aspiration or surgical lobectomy.

[Endobronchial ultrasonography for diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions].

Kyobu geka. The Japanese journal of thoracic surgery, 2007
Endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS) with a radial scanning probe provides cross-sectional images of peripheral pulmonary lesions. We devised a technique of EBUS for the diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions. EBUS using a thick guide sheath (GS) [2.5 mm in diameter] covering a miniature probe, and 150 lesions were evaluated in a prospective open ...
