Pathobiology of Peripheral T-cell Lymphomas
Hematology, 2006AbstractPeripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTLs) are uncommon, accounting for fewer than 10% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Success in therapy of the PTLs has lagged behind that of aggressive B-cell lymphomas, and most PTLs have a poor prognosis. The molecular pathogenesis of most PTLs is also poorly understood.

C’est un groupe heterogene representant 10-15 % des lymphomes non hodgkiniens (LNH), soit environ 1 300 nouveaux cas par an en France. Malgre leur faible frequence, ils sont d’une grande diversite.

Thirty-one Chinese patients with peripheral T cell lymphoma (PTCL) were reviewed. Using the modified Japanese Lymphoma Group classification, there were nine (29%) of the pleomorphic type, 16 (52%) immunoblastic lymphadenopathy (IBL)-like, two (7%) T-zone lymphoma, and one (3%) Lennert's lymphoepithelioid type. Three (9%) were not classifiable.

The role of PET in TCL is less well established compared to other lymphoma entities.
