Surgical management of an open humeral fracture in a greater rhea (Rhea americana): Internal placement of a locking compression plate and post‐operative complications

SUMMARY A 17‐year‐old, 24‐kg, female greater rhea (Rhea americana) presented with an acute onset of left wing droop. Clinical examination and radiographs revealed an open, simple, displaced, short‐oblique diaphyseal fracture of the distal third of the left humerus.

Mixed Reality‐Assisted Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair: A Retrospective Study on Efficacy and Safety

This study demonstrates the significant clinical utility of Mixed Reality (MR) in Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR). Our findings reveal that MR‐assisted workflows enhance patient comprehension and satisfaction preoperatively and provide intuitive intraoperative navigation.

Background and Purpose The contribution of obesity to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Adipose tissue synthesises estrogens via cytochrome P450 (CYP) 19A1 (aromatase), whereas circulating estrogens are metabolised in the lung by CYP1A1.
