Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Participatory artistic practices in southern peripheries: Impacts and challenges [PDF]
The aim of this chapter is to reflect on the impacts of Stronger Peripheries (SP). !e impact assessment for a project such as this is necessarily complex, multidimensional and requires a time frame and a distance that are not easily compatible with the ...

Reconceptualizing Resource Peripheries
This chapter evaluates how engagement with the periphery in economic geography has come to intersect with resource geographies. This intersection of resources and the periphery as ‘resource peripheries’ has structured models of economic development that ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

From the trajectories of two characters – one from a musical scene – in Salvador and another from Maceió, I explore the course of differentiating their positions and, thus, I design aspects of the expansion of musical entertainment circuits in the ...

Coping in Nordic Peripheries - on the Spatial Production of Societies [PDF]
In many traditional approaches the notion of “society” has been taken for given as a territorial container of modern society per se, and regional development was only a question of how to organise and distribute within societies.

Revitalising Urban Peripheries
Through urban expansion, cities have continued to generate new peripheries, but these are no longer included in a common, comprehensive project as would have occurred – albeit in a subordinate way – at the time of the industrial city.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Capitals gather constellations of bright and creative people, attracting them from the peripheries. Tchekhov’s sisters were anxious to get to Moscow, d’Artagnan – to Paris.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
