Summary Background Nephrosplenic entrapment (NSE) is a common surgical colic in horses. Ventral midline laparotomy (VML) under general anaesthesia (GA) is the standard approach, whereas standing flank laparotomy (SFL) is an alternative approach for surgical correction. However, direct comparisons between these approaches are lacking.

Mast Cells in Host Defense Against Cutaneous Staphylococcus aureus Infection
Impact of S. aureus epicutaneous sensitization models on mast cell function in vivo. D. farinae and Staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) activate Trpv1+ Tac1+ nociceptors to trigger the release of substance P (SP), which promotes mast cell degranulation through Mrgprb2. S.

NK cells present in EOC‐associated ascites retain elements of the conventional NK cell program while displaying a transcriptional profile distinct from peripheral blood NK cells. This profile encompasses biological programs usually associated with the CD56bright NK cell functions, which is consistent with transcriptional remodeling rather than complete
