Determinants of Outcome with Reoperative Surgery for Pseudomyxoma Peritonei in 186 Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Surgery Open, 2023
Objective:. To describe the long-term survival and clinical- and treatment-related variables that determine the outcome of repeat cytoreductive surgery (CRS) for mucinous appendiceal neoplasms with peritoneal dissemination. Summary Background:.

The Delphi and GRADE methodology used in the PSOGI 2018 consensus statement on Pseudomyxoma Peritonei and Peritoneal Mesothelioma

open access: yes, 2021
Pseudomyxoma Peritonei (PMP) and Peritoneal Mesothelioma (PM) are both rare peritoneal malignancies. Currently, affected patients may be treated with Cytoreductive Surgery and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy offering long-term survival or even ...

Mathematical models for order of mutation problem in myeloproliferative neoplasm: non-additivity and non-commutativity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In some patients of myeloproliferative neoplasm, two genetic mutations can be found: JAK2 V617F and TET2. When one mutation is present or not, the other mutation has different effects on regulating gene expressions. Besides, when both mutations are present, the order of occurrence might make a difference.

Order-of-mutation effects on cancer progression: models for myeloproliferative neoplasm [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We develop a modeling framework for cancer progression that distinguishes the order of two possible mutations. Recent observations and information on myeloproliferative neoplasms are analyzed within our framework. In some patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms, two genetic mutations can be found, JAK2 V617F and TET2.

Bacteria‐Derived Extracellular Vesicle as A “Trojan Horse” for Selective M1 Macrophage‐Targeting in A Multi‐Cellular Entanglement Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The temporary transition of macrophages from a pro‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M2) is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration processes. Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are utilized as a “trojan horse” for specific M1 macrophage‐targeting and anti‐inflammatory drug delivery ...

Peritoneal metastatic mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma treated with cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy: a case report [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Coloproctology
A 61-year-old man presented with abdominal distension without any symptoms. On colonoscopy and computed tomography findings, it was clinically diagnosed as peritoneal metastasis of sigmoid colon cancer, and diagnostic laparoscopy was performed.

P.L.E.A.T.-Preventing Lymphocele Ensuring Absorption Transperitoneally: A Robotic Technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
OBJECTIVE: To reduce the risk of symptomatic lymphocele after robotic pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND), we present a novel technique, preventing lymphocele ensuring absorption transperitoneally (P.L.E.A.T.), where the peritoneum is "pleated" along its
