Uterine PEComa: Perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm

open access: yes, 2023
ANTECEDENTES: El PEComa es un tumor de células epitelioides, perivascular, de origen mesenquimatoso que expresa marcadores melanocíticos y miogénicos. Estos tumores son un grupo raro de neoplasias.

An unusual case of uterine PEComa presenting with disseminated intravascular coagulation

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology Reports, 2019
Perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasms (PEComas) are mesenchymal neoplasms originating from the perivascular epithelioid cell (PEC) line. The World Health Organization (WHO) further defines PEComa as “a mesenchymal tumor composed of histologically and ...

Malignant melanocytic neoplasm of pancreas with liver metastasis: Is it malignant melanoma or clear cell sarcoma?

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2017
Malignant melanocytic neoplasm, usually seen in soft tissues, is rare in a visceral location and presents as a diagnostic dilemma. We present a case of pancreatic malignant melanocytic neoplasm with liver metastasis. A 58-year-old man presented with left

Hepatic Angiomyolipoma: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesLietuvos Chirurgija, 2023
Background. Hepatic angiomyolipomas are uncommon non-cancerous mesenchymal tumors that belong to the perivascular epithelioid cell tumour group. Smooth muscle cells, fat cells and blood vessels can be observed in these types of neoplasm.

Primary perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) in bone: A review of the literature and a case arising in the humerus with multiple metastases

open access: yesJournal of Bone Oncology, 2021
Introduction: Perivascular epithelioid cell tumors (PEComas) are a family of mesenchymal tumors that rarely arise as a primary bone tumor. Material and methods: We report a case of primary malignant bone PEComa. A literature review via PubMed, Embase and

Soft Tissue Perivascular Epithelioid Cell Tumour: An Unusual Finding

open access: yes, 2021
Perivascular epithelioid cell tumour (PEComa) is a rare mesenchymal tumour made up of clear perivascular cells with epithelioid characteristics, which co-expresses muscle and melanocytic markers with a component of spindle cells, like sarcoma and variety

Primary Pulmonary Mesenchymal Neoplasm With EWSR1::CREM Fusion: Cytologic Findings and Molecular Diagnosis

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Primary pulmonary mesenchymal neoplasms with EWSR1::CREM fusion are rare. These lesions are challenging to diagnose by morphology and immunohistochemistry alone. Case A 66‐year‐old woman (ex‐smoker) was found to have a 1.3‐cm right lower lobe lung nodule that had grown very slowly over a 9‐year period.

Perivascular epithelioid cell tumour of the uterus: what do we know? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm (PEComa) is a rare mesenchymal tumour characterized by distinctive histological and immunohistochemical perivascular epithelioid cells. These tumours can be found in various anatomic sites, with gynaecologic PEComas

Mapping the Tissue Architecture and Endothelial‐PEC Network in HAML Using Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Spatial multi‐omics mapping of hepatic angiomyolipoma reveals that PEComas tightly co‐localize with endothelial cells, which drive autophagic flux in adjacent tumor cells via a paracrine PDGFD–PDGFRB–Ras axis, establishing a compensatory survival network that operates in parallel to canonical TSC–mTOR defects.
