Axion‐Like Interactions and CFT in Topological Matter, Anomaly Sum Rules and the Faraday Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 4, Issue 7, July 2025.
This review investigates the connection between chiral anomalies and their manifestation in topological materials, using both perturbative methods based on ordinary quantum field theory and conformal field theory (CFT). It emphasizes the role of CFT in momentum space for parity‐odd correlation functions, and their reconstruction by the inclusion of a ...

Optoelectric‐Driven Wetting Transition on Artificially Micropatterned Surfaces With Long‐Range Virtual Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 6, 2025.
The manuscript describes an optoelectrowetting method based on the optical induction of virtual electrodes on a ferroelectric crystal placed below a superhydrophobic substrate. The experimental and numerical comprehensive analysis reveals a wetting transition from the Cassie–Baxter to the Wenzel state upon a long‐range interaction between the light ...

Crane Rail Health Monitoring With Laser Vibrometry

open access: yesStructural Control and Health Monitoring, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
This paper proposes a method for the evaluation of the combined system of heavy port cranes and the rails on which they run and demonstrates its success. Using techniques from railroad track health monitoring, we record the guided waves created in the rails from the movement of the wheels using laser‐based vibrometry.

Wireless Peristaltic Pump for Transporting Viscous Fluids and Solid Cargos in Confined Spaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 45, November 5, 2024.
Lumen dysmotility can lead to blockages and significant challenges, such as aspiration in the lungs and reproductive issues in the female oviduct. The wirelessly actuated soft robotic pump is designed to seamlessly integrate with medical stents, restoring peristalsis and efficiently transporting viscous fluids and solid cargos.

Electrospun Fiber‐Based Tubular Structures as 3D Scaffolds to Generate In Vitro Models for Small Intestine

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 309, Issue 10, October 2024.
This study showcases the creation of tubular continuous scaffolds through electrospinning, composed of finely woven fibers of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and polycaprolactone (PCL). These scaffolds support the formation of an intestinal epithelial layer in vitro, aiming to replicate the small intestine 3D structure.
