Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

2020
The mathematical three-phase model of these motors is obtained. Then the standard dq or Park’s transformation is derived and applied to obtain the standard motor dq dynamical model. These results are employed to solve the velocity and position regulation problem. A pendulum is included as a load in the position control problem.

Permanent-magnet motors

1996
Abstract New electromechanical drive systems endowed with a combination of desirable characteristics are a considerable impetus to technological progress. Taking a robot axis drive as an example, it should combine a low moment of inertia and low torque pulsations with high power/weight ratio, high torque overload capability and high ...

Simple Nonlinear Magnetic Analysis for Permanent-Magnet Motors

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2004
This paper presents a simple nonlinear magnetic analysis for a surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor as an assistant design tool of finite-element analysis (FEA). The equivalent magnetic circuit of the motor used in the proposed analysis is composed of the saturable permeance tips in the stator teeth for considering the local magnetic ...

Magnetic Shielding for Coreless Linear Permanent Magnet Motors

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
This paper concerns the local reduction of the magnetic flux density by means of magnetic shielding. Using a spatial frequency description, a 2-D semi-analytical periodic model is obtained for a coreless single-sided linear permanent magnet motor. The magnetic shield is included in the modeling using mode-matching. The obtained magnetic flux density is

Nonregenerative Braking of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2020
This article proposes nonregenerative braking algorithm for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), suitable for low-cost drive equipped with the front-end diode rectifier. The algorithm is based on the selection of braking trajectories with maximum iron and copper losses, while keeping dc-bus voltage at the acceptable level and with operational

Permanent magnet synchronous motors

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2008
PurposeThis paper aims to apply a two‐axis model for accurate representation of the characteristics of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) of the interior type.Design/methodology/approachFor a three‐phase PMSM, it uses a voltage source inverter with six power transistors with independent switching and PSIM software with Matlab for checking, by ...

Efficient MPC for permanent magnet synchronous motor

2017 25th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED), 2017
The permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control poses a challenging task since the dynamics of the system is nonlinear, there are hard constraints, and computational costs should be kept as low as possible. One way how to satisfy all of the requirements is to use the model predictive control (MPC) with a small length of short horizon in the MPC ...
