PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR
Synchronous machine (CM) is an alternating current electric machine whose rotor speed is directed in the same direction as the speed of the electromagnetic field. In a synchronous generator with permanent magnets on the rotor, there is no excitation winding, and the magnetic flux of excitation is created due to permanent magnets, not coils.

Optimal design and control of permanent magnet assisted dual rotor motor
As high-performance motors, permanent magnet motors are widely used in a wide range of applications. It has become a consensus to mine reluctance torque in permanent magnet motors.

Prediction of the electromagnetic torque in synchronous machines through Maxwell stress harmonic filter (HFT) method [PDF]
For the calculation of torque in synchronous motors a local method is analysed, based on the Maxwell stress theory and the filtered contributions due to the harmonics of the magnetic vector potential in the motor air-gap.

Performance estimation of interior permanent-magnet brushless motors using the voltage-driven flux-MMF diagram [PDF]
The flux-magnetomotive force (flux-MMF) diagram, or "energy conversion loop," is a powerful tool for computing the parameters of saturated interior permanent-magnet brushless motors, especially when the assumptions underlying classical dq theory are not ...

Demagnetization Fault Diagnosis in IPMSM Using Linear Interpolation [PDF]
This paper proposes a demagnetization fault diagnosis method for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors(IPMSMs). In particular, a demagnetization fault is one of the most frequent electrical faults in IPMSMs.

Cross-Saturation Effects in IPM Motors and Related Impact on Sensorless Control [PDF]
Permanent-magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors are well suited to zero-speed sensorless control because of their inherently salient behavior. However, the cross-saturation effect can lead to large errors on the position estimate, which is based ...

Current over-stressing small DC motors to evaluate performance limits of electromechanical actuators for haptic applications [PDF]
Actuators for haptic devices tend to have a different set of requirements in comparison to many other engineering applications. Small permanent magnet DC electric motors are commonly used as actuators in haptic devices and, in operation, tend to spend a ...
