Demagnetization characteristics of permanent magnet synchronous machines

IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014
This paper presents the calculated demagnetization characteristics of different types of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) under the influence of demagnetizing MMF contributed by the stator currents (i.e., armature reaction). The demagnetization of NdFeB magnets is quantified in terms of demagnetized magnet volume and loss of magnet ...

Dynamic simulation of permanent magnet synchronous machine

Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37521), 2004
Electric drive is increasingly gaining in importance within the general ship propulsion system. Contemporary electric propulsion mainly contains a fixed propeller, a synchronous or asynchronous propulsion engine and PWM frequency converter with an adequate drive.

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines With Nonuniformly Distributed Teeth

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2022
An increasing interest for permanent magnet synchronous machines with low torque ripple and low vibration is observed. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the topology of non-uniformly distributed teeth and its influence of on cogging torque, tooth ripple harmonics and torque ripple of permanent magnet synchronous machines.

Electric Machine Design Tool for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines

2019 Fourteenth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER), 2019
Since various machine parameters of existing electric machines are subject to confidentiality agreements of manufacturers, machine data sheets are often incomplete, making an accurate simulation and validation of machine design tools difficult but inevitable.

Simple Size Determination of Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Machines

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
Today, performance improvements such as reducing the time response and enhancing the efficiency of the electrical motor are one of the most important challenges. In the design of a permanent-magnet (PM) motor, the variables for sizing include the shape ratio (SR), the torque per rotor volume (TRV), and the torque density (TD), and these variables are ...

Current reference governor of permanent magnet synchronous machine

2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016
This paper presents a control method for constrained control of a permanent magnet synchronous machine. The control system utilizes field oriented PI current control tuned using linear control theory to obtain good steady- state performance and a fast transient response.

Control of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machine

IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012
This paper presents results of the control algorithm development for vector control of permanent magnet synchronous machine realised on DSP TMS320F2812. Results of experiments and project of new control unit based on FPGA are presented. The setup was tested with permanent magnet motor up to 42000 RPM, nominal torque 1.2 Nm and nominal current 11 A.

Novel synchronous machine with permanent magnet in stator yoke

2015 IEEE International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices (ASEMD), 2015
A novel 6/7 stator/rotor pole biased flux permanent magnet machine with auxiliary teeth (AT-BFPMM) is proposed in this paper. The stator of new machine is constituted by two types of T-shaped lamination segments sandwiched with circumferentially magnetized permanent magnets (PMs) and the rotor is identical to that of switched reluctance machines (SRMs).
