Deformational characteristics of rock in low permeable reservoir and their effect on permeability
Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2010In the development of oil and gas the pressure in the rocks of reservoir changes constantly and rocks are compressed and deformed. So their permeability reduces. And the production capacity of oil and gas well is affected by the permeability. This paper deals with the deformational characteristics of rocks in low permeable reservoir and their effect on

Chromatophores and permeability characteristics of frog skin
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, 1966Abstract 1. 1. To test eventual relations between chromatophore regulation and permeability characteristics, eleven pharmacological substances capable of acting on frog skin permeability have been studied. 2. 2. It is demonstrated that chromatotrophic substance action on chromatophores is not a mere action on cellular permeability ...

The permeability of natural soft clays. Part II: Permeability characteristics
Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1983The permeability characteristics of a number of intact natural soft clays from Québec, the USA, and Sweden have been investigated in the laboratory. The variation of permeability with void ratio is best represented in terms of a linear e vs. lg k relation which is generally valid in the range of volumetric strains encountered in engineering practice ...

Permeability characteristics of the guinea pig biliary apparatus†
Hepatology, 1986To determine the mechanism and pathway of entry of polar nonelectrolytes into bile, we studied first the permeation of [3H]H2O, [14C]urea, [14C]erythritol, [14C]mannitol, [3H]sucrose, [3H]inulin and [3H]dextran across an isolated, in situ perfused segment of the guinea pig's extrahepatic bile duct.

Permeability characteristics of isolated perfused rat lungs
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1991We examined the factors that influence the permeability characteristics of isolated perfused rat lungs and compared the ex vivo permeability-surface area product (PS) with that obtained in vivo. In lungs perfused for 20 min with homologous blood or a physiological salt solution (PSS) containing 4 g/100 ml albumin, mean PS values, obtained by the ...

Permeability Characteristics of Superfine Cement-Grouted Sand
ACI Materials Journal, 2017The aim of this research was to investigate the permeability of superfine cement-grouted sand. Initially, rheology of superfine cement suspensions was studied. The sedimentation and the setting time increased but the viscosity decreased as the water-cement ratio (w/c) increased.

Permeability characteristics of cultured endothelial cell monolayers
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1988The purpose of this study was to characterize the permeability characteristics of an in vitro endothelial cell monolayer system and relate this information to available in vivo data. We cultured bovine fetal aortic endothelial cells on fibronectin-coated polycarbonate filters and confirmed that our system was similar to others in the literature with ...

Permeability Characteristics of Brain Adjacent to Tumors in Rats
Archives of Neurology, 1975The brain immediately surrounding 9L sarcoma and Walker 256 carcinosarcoma was evaluated, using radioactive water, albumin, red blood cells, urea, and sodium to quantitate isotopic exchange and permeability in the brain adjacent to tumor (BAT), normal brain, and, to a lesser extent, tumor.

Energy Characteristics of Permeable Thermoelements
Journal of Electronic Materials, 2012The construction of a permeable thermoelement that uses heat fluxes carried by a gas or liquid is presented. A method for thermoelement design on the basis of mathematical optimal control theory and computer simulation techniques is described. The results of research into a permeable planar thermoelement fabricated from Bi-Te-Se-Sb semiconductor ...

A Correlation between Iodine Permeability and the Gram Characteristic of Cells
Nature, 1959Kaplan and Kaplan demonstrated that the addition of iodine to the alcohol used as a decolorizer in the Gram procedure resulted in retardation of the rate of decolorization. If the concentration of iodine was sufficiently high, no decolorization occurred.
