Current Sheet Permeability in Electromagnetic Pulsed Plasma Thrusters [PDF]

open access: possible38th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference & Exhibit, 2002
A case is made for the existence of permeability of current sheets in electromagneticpulsed plasma thrusters. Permeability refers to the leakage of plasma or neutral par-ticles behind the sheet and could cause a significant effect on the performance of thethruster. Analytical calculations are presented which demonstrate the mismatch be-tween experimental

Inversion of Multifrequency Electromagnetic Data to a Conductive and Permeable Sphere

Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems 2001, 2001
We have developed an algorithm for inverting broadband electromagnetic (EM) data to determine its electrical conductivity, magnetic permeability, radius, and depth using a sphere model. The algorithm is based on traditional non-linear inverse methods with singular value decomposition.

Analytical Prediction of Halbach Array Permanent Magnet Machines Considering Finite Tooth Permeability

IEEE transactions on magnetics, 2020
The most significant assumption of conventional analytical methods (e.g., the subdomain technique) is that the stator and rotor iron cores are infinitely permeable.

Inclusion of Finite Permeability on Design and Optimization of an Electromagnetic Undulator

Chinese Physics Letters, 2014
We derive an alternate analytical expression for the optimum dimensions of an electromagnetic undulator with a finite permeability lamination core. The analytical expressions are compared with earlier results under an infinite permeability approximation of the lamination core of the electromagnetic undulator design.

Microwave absorption performance of reduced graphene oxide with negative imaginary permeability

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2019
In this work, reduced graphene oxide (RGO) aerogels of various pore sizes were fabricated by hydrothermal and lyophilizing processes and their influence on microwave absorption via optimization of electrical conductivity and permittivity was studied.

Transient electromagnetic response of a permeable nonuniformly conducting sphere

Journal of Applied Physics, 1975
Quasistatic response of a nonuniformly conducting and magnetically permeable sphere to a step pulse is obtained. the effect of conductivity distribution pattern and permeability of the sphere on the transient response is examined in detail. The results show that the introduction of conductivity inhomogeneity has considerable effect on the observed ...

Analysis of Electromagnetic Field on the Permeability Test of Concrete

2012 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2012
The method of water pressure measuring permeability of concrete has a long test cycle, low efficiency, and doesn't apply to low permeability of concrete. The method based on electricity can overcome these shortcomings. This paper puts forward the method of streaming potential coefficient to measure the permeability of concrete, which is reasonable ...

Thin Hybrid Metamaterial Slab With Negative and Zero Permeability for High Efficiency and Low Electromagnetic Field in Wireless Power Transfer Systems

IEEE transactions on electromagnetic compatibility (Print), 2018
Current wireless power transfer (WPT) systems have limited charging distance and high induced electromagnetic field (EMF) leakage. Thus, we first proposed a thin printed circuit board (PCB) type hybrid metamaterial slab (HMS) combining two kinds of ...

Investigation of Negative and Near-Zero Permeability Metamaterials for Increased Efficiency and Reduced Electromagnetic Field Leakage in a Wireless Power Transfer System

IEEE transactions on electromagnetic compatibility (Print), 2019
In order to meet both safety and efficiency requirements of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, reducing electromagnetic field (EMF) leakage and improving efficiency are critical factors in the implementation of systems.

THE NEGATIVE PERMITTIVITY AND PERMEABILITY CHARACTERISTICS OF TRIANGULAR ELECTROMAGNETIC RESONATORS

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2011
In this paper, the triangular electromagnetic resonators (TERs) is introduced and investigated. The electric mode at lower frequency and magnetic mode at higher frequency, originating from coupling to the electric field and magnetic field, are validated through the measurement in parallel-plate waveguide system, parameter retrieval algorithm and ...
