Machine Learning‐Enabled Polymer Discovery for Enhanced Pulmonary siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study provides an efficient approach to train a machine learning model by merging heterogeneous literature data to predict suitable polymers for siRNA delivery. Without the need for extensive laboratory synthesis, the machine learning enabled a virtual screening and successfully predicted a polymer that is validated for effective gene silencing in

Hydrogen transport in alpha titanium [PDF]

open access: yes
Permeation experiments after nitriding the inlet surface of a hollow cylindrical membrane were conducted. Permeation data on two additional specimens given pre-oxidation or pre-nitriding treatments at both inlet and outlet surfaces are presented in terms

Double Cross‐Linked Hydrogel for Intra‐articular Injection as Modality for Macrophages Metabolic Reprogramming and Therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel for intra‐articular injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is formulated and comprehensively studied. After administration, the hydrogel induces a metabolic reprogramming of immunometabolism of macrophages to trigger fatty acid oxidation subsequently inducing polarization of anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophages. This results in

Versatile Green Transfer of Magnetoelectronics with Loss‐Free Performance and High Adhesion for Interactive Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An environmentally friendly transfer printing method of nm‐thick giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensors is demonstrated. This method, relying on water and biocompatible polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer without the need of complex treatments, allows transferring thin films to a wide range of biological, organic, and inorganic substrates.

Transmembrane Activation of Catalysis and Protein Refolding in Synthetic Cells by Enzymes and Nanozymes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Synthetic cells are engineered herein to respond to an external chemical messenger by the activation of intracellular catalysis. The chemical messenger molecules are catalytically generated by an extracellular enzyme or a mineral surface, whereas the intracellular catalysis emerges via direct enzyme activation or via protein refolding.

Evaluation and Prediction of Drug Permeation

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1999
Abstract A major challenge confronting the pharmaceutical scientist is to optimize the selective and efficient delivery of new active entities and drug candidates. Successful drug development requires not only optimization of specific and potent pharmacodynamic activity, but also efficient delivery to the target site.

Vat Photopolymerization of High Molecular Weight Polymer Latexes with Pseudothermoplastic Properties for Recyclability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A photocurable latex system enables high‐resolution vat photopolymerization of water‐dispersed thermoplastics, yielding pseudothermoplastic materials with recyclability. The formulation permits precise control over mechanical properties and supports reprocessing through conventional and extrusion‐based methods. Compatibility with two‐photon 3D printing

Heat transfer in a membrane assisted fluidised bed with immersed horizontal tubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The effect of gas permeation through horizontally immersed membrane tubes on the heat transfer characteristics in a membrane assisted fluidised bed was investigated experimentally. Local time-averaged heat transfer coefficients from copper tubes arranged
