Broadband measurement of high permittivity at millimetre‐wave frequencies

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
In this Letter, a method for the broadband measurement of complex permittivity using a quasi‐optical technique is presented. After calibration of the quasi‐optical system, the material under test is inserted into the system and S‐parameters are measured ...

Direct Integration of Conductive, Emissive Perovskite Nanocrystals Into Efficient Light‐Emitting Diodes Without Post‐Synthetic Ligand Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate the direct integration of CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) into optoelectronic devices without post‐synthetic ligand exchange. This is achieved by synthesizing PNCs stabilized by strong‐binding‐energy oleylammonium–bromide pairs instead of oleate ligands. The resultant low ligand density and minimized surface defects enhance charge

Improved Permittivity Measurement for the Material With Arbitrary Thickness Based on NRW and Adaptivity of Propagation Constant

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement & Technology
An improved Nicolson‐Ross‐Weir (NRW) transmission/reflection method with the algorithm of adapting propagation constant is proposed in this paper for the permittivity measurement of that material with arbitrary thickness.

Permittivity measurement under free space propagation

open access: yes, 2012
Standard permittivity measurement techniques require samples to meet strict requirements regarding size, shape, surface roughness etc. This paper proposes a novel free space measurement technique which avoids these limitations.

Engineering Local Polar Frustration in Lead‐Free Dielectric Ceramics for Ultrahigh Normalized Energy Storage Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Local polar frustration is engineered to stabilize an ergodic relaxer through nanoscale multiphase coexistence, suppressing long‐range ferroelectric order while preserving high polarization. This strategy delivers ultrahigh low‐field normalized energy density (Wa >0.020 mC cm−2), exceptional thermal stability, and a transferable design principle for ...

Wool-air mix permittivity measurement

open access: yes, 2019
Wool is a natural fiber with the potential to be used in wearable RF devices or as a printed-circuit-board substrate reinforcement. Wool fibers are normally woven or entangled, and the resulting textile comprises a substantial amount of air.

Discovery of Energy‐Localized Trap States via Opto‐Electrical Spectroscopy in UWBG Perovskite La:SrSnO3 FETs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Combined UV–vis transmittance and wavelength‐dependent photo‐assisted DC I–V analyses reveal defect‐induced optical instability and a high density of deep donor‐like subgap traps in La‐doped SrSnO3. The resulting MOSFET achieves one of the highest on/off ratios reported for ABO3 perovskite devices, demonstrating the promise of stannate perovskites as ...

Unified Phase‐Field Framework for Antiferroelectric, Ferroelectric and Dielectric Phases: Application to HZO Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HfxZr1−xO2${\rm Hf}_x{\rm Zr}_{1-x}{\rm O}_2$ offers CMOS‐compatible nanoscale ferroelectricity yet suffers from a high Ec${\rm E}_c$ demanding large operating voltages. A unified phase‐field framework spanning AFE/FE/DE phases shows how FE grains soften neighboring AFE grains over λ$\lambda$ ≈$\approx$ 22–37 nm.

Comments to: A Novel Low-Cost Instrumentation System for Measuring the Water Content and Apparent Electrical Conductivity of Soils, Sensors, 15, 25546–25563

open access: yesSensors, 2018
The article comments on claims made by Rêgo et al. about the sensor they developed to determine soil water content and its salinity via the admittance measurement of electrodes embedded in the soil.
