This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Entropy inequalities for random walks and permutations
We consider a new functional inequality controlling the rate of relative entropy decay for random walks, the interchange process and more general block-type dynamics for permutations. The inequality lies between the classical logarithmic Sobolev inequality and the modified logarithmic Sobolev inequality, roughly interpolating between the two as the ...

Quantifying Information without Entropy: Identifying Intermittent Disturbances in Dynamical Systems
A system’s response to disturbances in an internal or external driving signal can be characterized as performing an implicit computation, where the dynamics of the system are a manifestation of its new state holding some memory about those disturbances.

Permutation entropy: One concept, two approaches
Since C. Bandt and B. Pompe introduced permutation entropy in 2002 for piecewise strictly monotonous self-maps of one-dimensional intervals, this concept has been generalized to ever more general settings by means of two similar, though not equivalent ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Novel QRS Detection Based on the Adaptive Improved Permutation Entropy
we propose a novel QRS detection algorithm based on a new Permutation Entropy (PE) method that we developed and referred to as the Adaptive Improved Permutation Entropy (AIPE) method. The parameters of the AIPE method are determined based on the specific

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Tsallis Entropy-Based Complexity-IPE Casualty Plane: A Novel Method for Complex Time Series Analysis
Due to its capacity to unveil the dynamic characteristics of time series data, entropy has attracted growing interest. However, traditional entropy feature extraction methods, such as permutation entropy, fall short in concurrently considering both the ...
