How many people, even those interested in the Earth sciences, have heard of perovskite? Yet minerals with the perovskite structure are the most abundant minerals on the Earth with a corresponding importance for our understanding of the origin, development and functioning of our planet.

Perovskite ferroelectric nanomaterials
Nanoscale, 2013In this review, the main concept of ferroelectricity of perovskite oxides and related materials at nanometer scale and existing difficulties in the synthesis of those nanocrystals are discussed. Important effects, such as depolarization field and size effect, on the existence of ferroelectricity in perovskite nanocrystals are deliberated.

Crystals of pentalanthanum pentatitanium heptadecaoxide (La(5)Ti(5)O(17) with 0.3% oxygen excess, or LaTiO(3.41)) have been synthesized by floating-zone melting, and the structure has been solved using single-crystal X-ray diffraction intensities. The monoclinic (P2(1)/c) structure consists of perovskite-like slabs of vertex-sharing TiO(6) octahedra ...

Perovskite Quantum Dots. A New Absorber for Perovskite-Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells
2018 IEEE 7th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC) (A Joint Conference of 45th IEEE PVSC, 28th PVSEC & 34th EU PVSEC), 2018The nanoscale properties of CsPbI 3 quantum dots allows for the advantageous manipulation of its phase diagram. We show that these all-inorganic halide perovskite nanocrystals can be used to fabricate colloidal perovskite quantum dot solar cells with low voltage losses.
