Phase transitions in ferroelectric solid solutions of complex perovskites

Abstract The phenomenological theory of ferro- and antiferroelectric solid solutions is proposed taking into account the possibility of compositional order variation. Complex perovskites AB′0.5B″0.5O3 where one of the cations is substituted are considered.

Nonstoichiometry of the perovskite-type solid solution La0.9Ca0.1Cr1−Al O3−

Abstract Nonstoichiometry of the perovskite-type solid solutions La0.9Ca0.1Cr1−yAlyO3−δ was studied by high-temperature gravimetry under controlled P(O2) atmospheres of 1–10− 23 bar at 1073–1273 K. The observed data were described by a regular solution-like model for the randomly distributed defects of VO¨ , CrCr. , CaLa,, and AlCrX.

Dual ferroelasticity of lanthanum chromium-based multicomponent solid solution perovskite

While the majority of mixed ionic electronic conducting ferroelastic perovskites exhibit a single softening followed by hardening during loading, we report an unusual dual softening in lanthanum chromite-based perovskite due to a possible pressure-induced first-order phase transition from orthorhombic to rhombohedral phase during loading.
