A Microfounded Mechanism of Observed Substantial Inflation Persistence

open access: yes
Recently, it has been argued that trend inflation may be the solution to the puzzle of inflation persistence in the New Keynesian Phillips curve (NKPC).

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Change in persistence tests for panels: An update and some new results [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we propose a set of new panel tests to detect changes in persistence. The test statistics are used to test the null hypothesis of stationarity against the alternative of a change in persistence from I(0) to I(1), from I(1) to I(0) and in an

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

[Characterization of persistence factors of enterococci].

open access: yesZhurnal mikrobiologii, epidemiologii i immunobiologii, 2003
Persistence factors is some species of enterococci (E. faecium, E. faecalis, E. gallinarum), isolated from healthy children and from children with purulent inflammatory diseases, were studied. The study revealed some interspecific and intraspecific differences in the activity of these factors, linked with the presence of purulent inflammatory process ...

PERSISTENCE OF PRICE-COST MARGINS IN THE U.S. FOOD AND TOBACCO MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES: A DYNAMIC SINGLE INDEX MODEL APPROACH

open access: yes
Persistence of price-cost margins in the U.S. food and tobacco manufacturing industries is measured while accounting for price-cost margin risk. Direct measurement of persistence and of long- and short-run price-cost margin risk is accomplished by ...

Specific factors meet intermediate inputs: implications for the persistence problem

open access: yes
A central challenge to monetary business cycle theory is to find a solution to the problem of persistence in the real effect of monetary shocks. Previous research has identified separately specific factors and intermediate inputs as two promising ...

FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO STUDENT PERSISTENCE AT TENNESSEE TECHNICAL COLLEGES

open access: yes, 2020
The purpose of this qualitative case study is to explore factors that may contribute to student persistence in the completion of their program of study in an urban technical college setting.
