化学的分解処理技術が, 焼却処理の代替技術として注目されてきた経緯についてまとめた上で, POPsの代表物質で, 大量に保管されているものの環境への放出が懸念されるPCBと最近の話題の中心であるダイオキシン類の化学的分解処理技術について紹介する。化学的分解処理技術として, アルカリ触媒分解法, 化学抽出分解法, カリウムターシャリーブトオキサイド法, 金属ナトリウム法, 紫外線照射/微生物分解法などを取り上げた。これらの化学的分解処理技術は, 脱塩素化反応 (PCB中の塩素は, ナトリウムあるいはカリウム塩として除去) を基本としており, 0.5mgPCB/kg油以下まで処理可能である。反応時間は, 50ppm前後の低濃度のPCBでは10分オーダー, 10, 000ppmの高濃度では2 ...
