Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Seismic Design Considerations for Architectural Design Aspects

open access: yesIconarp International Journal of Architecture and Planning, 2019
Architectural design decisions play an important role in the earthquake behavior of buildings. However, architects are very unfamiliar with earthquake response concept. Earthquake resistant design (ERD) initiates generally during the architectural design

Rolling Stiefel Manifolds Equipped with α-Metrics

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
We discuss the rolling, without slipping and without twisting, of Stiefel manifolds equipped with α-metrics, from an intrinsic and an extrinsic point of view.

Observability/Identifiability of Rigid Motion under Perspective Projection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The "visual motion" problem consists of estimating the motion of an object viewed under projection. In this paper we address the feasibility of such a problem.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Image Reconstruction Algorithm Based on Spectral Projected Gradient Pursuit for Electrical Capacitance Tomography

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2018
Accuracy and speed are important indicators to detect the image reconstruction algorithm for electrical capacitance tomography. In recent years, although many image reconstruction algorithms have been studied, they can not achieve desired results.

Reducing "Structure From Motion": a General Framework for Dynamic Vision - Part 1: Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The literature on recursive estimation of structure and motion from monocular image sequences comprises a large number of different models and estimation techniques.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

On the geometry of quantum constrained systems

open access: yes, 2008
The use of geometric methods has proved useful in the hamiltonian description of classical constrained systems. In this note we provide the first steps toward the description of the geometry of quantum constrained systems.

Portfolios of Agile Projects [PDF]

open access: yesProject Management Journal, 2018
While agile approaches can be extremely effective at a project level, they can impose significant complexity and a need for adaptiveness at the project portfolio level. While this has proven to be highly problematic, there is little research on how to manage a set of agile projects at the project portfolio level.
