Recursive Motion Estimation on the Essential Manifold [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Visual motion estimation can be regarded as estimation of the state of a system of difference equations with unknown inputs defined on a manifold. Such a system happens to be "linear", but it is defined on a space (the so called "Essential manifold ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Applying Pose Estimation to Predict Amateur Golf Swing Performance Using Edge Processing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
We present an analysis and approach for utilizing vision-based pose estimation to find key video frames in a full golf swing to assist in providing feedback for improvement. Using both still photos and videos, the proposed system discovers key moments in

Parameterized Synthetic Image Data Set for Fisheye Lens

open access: yes, 2018
Based on different projection geometry, a fisheye image can be presented as a parameterized non-rectilinear image. Deep neural networks(DNN) is one of the solutions to extract parameters for fisheye image feature description.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Sémiotique de la pudeur

open access: yesSignata, 2020
In this paper I firstly propose a brief survey of the initial developments of the studies on the (un)clothed body meant as language, then I dwell on the way in which such perspective may be used to reformulate classical theories about the (in)visibility ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
