Intra Prediction of Depth Picture with Plane Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2018
In this paper, an intra prediction method is proposed for coding of depth pictures using plane modelling. Each pixel in the depth picture is related to the distance from a camera to an object surface, and pixels corresponding to a flat surface of an object form a relationship with the 2D plane surface.

Picture-plane bias in children's representational drawing

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Psychology, 1983
Abstract The study of representational picture-production by children was one of the founding disciplines of experimental child psychology. Today there are only traces of the tradition left as far as one important aspect is concerned. That is the problem of how biasses are generated when children look for cues on the picture-plane.

Efficient Depth Data Coding Method Based on Plane Modeling for Intra Prediction

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this article, we propose a depth data coding method by plane modeling. The plane modeling is a prediction method based on a plane estimation from depth pixels in a block.

Gibson and Pictures in Perspective: Reverse the Directions

open access: yesi-Perception, 2021
In his extensive writing about pictures, James J. Gibson offered perspective formulae for square tiles projecting trapezoids onto a picture plane, foreshortening to zero height with distance.

Innovative discussion of decision-making model based on complex cubic picture fuzzy information and geometric aggregation operators with applications

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems, 2023
This article presents a novel concept of complex cubic picture fuzzy sets (CCPFS) and introduces one more new idea of complex interval-valued picture fuzzy sets (CIVPFS) as foundational framework of CCPFS.

The façade and the picture plane [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Contemporary Painting, 2017
Abstract If, following Bois, the task of the painter is the development of a thought that is properly pictorial, then this article will explore the idea of commitment as a problem for discourse: any claim about a painting’s relation to its outsides being a function of what writing is capable of saying in the face of such a thought ...

Experimental and numerical analyses of the mechanical behavior during draping of non-orthogonal bi-axial non-crimp fabric composite reinforcements

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
Experimental analyses and modeling of the draping of composite fiber reinforcements generally concern textiles where the fiber directions are orthogonal in the initial state.

Development of Method for Categorization on Sign Language Picture using Image Plane Adjustment Technique

open access: yesRMUTL Engineering Journal, 2020
Most image classification is based on applying decision-making algorithms, in conjunction with image preprocessing, in order to extract distinctive features from the images and compute the most appropriate weights used in the decision making.

Impact of Pretreatment of the Bulk Starting Material on the Efficiency of Liquid Phase Exfoliation of WS2

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Liquid phase exfoliation (LPE) is widely used to produce colloidal dispersions of nanomaterials, in particular two-dimensional nanosheets. The degree of exfoliation, i.e., the length to thickness aspect ratio was shown to be intrinsically limited by the ...
