Climatic niche position predicts population dynamics in Mediterranean shrubs after drought
Climatic conditions closer to the species' climatic niche centroid generally resulted in higher population growth in two Mediterranean shrubs, but demographic responses differed between species and were further influenced by drought‐induced vegetation die‐off.

Abstract Polymetallic sulfide deposits produced at hydrothermal vent fields are targets for mining exploitation along the Mid‐Atlantic Ridge, threatening the functioning and resilience of vent ecosystems that provide multiple ecosystem services. Knowledge about connectivity between vents will inform conservation practices.

The event of 21 June 1980 and the origin of solar cosmic rays
A partir de las observaciones de una perturbación en el medio interplanetario, se discuten dos posibles fuentes de rayos cósmicos solares: los más energéticos son generados en el propio proceso de origen del destello en Há asociado a la perturbación, los

Abstract Bioinvasions are considered mostly as a biodiversity and conservation hazard, but in specific situations, introduced species can bring ecological or socioeconomic benefits. We assessed the social–ecological role of marine introduced species in the eastern Mediterranean Sea—a global hotspot of bioinvasions and extirpations—and their potential ...

Fodder banks: Does cyclic pruning influence soil ant richness (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)?
Los bancos de forraje combinan una variedad de arbustos y plantas forrajeras que son podadas periódicamente para alimentar el ganado, los cuales presentan una serie de beneficios (alta biomasa, energía y diversidad vegetal); sin embargo, existen pocos ...

Advancing Major Policy Change Analysis in the Advocacy Coalition Framework
ABSTRACT The Advocacy Coalition Framework (ACF) has been used extensively to study policy processes globally. Existing research, however, fails to sequence the combination of factors that influence policy change. Using theory‐testing process tracing and a within‐case study design focused on Ghana and Nigeria, we address these knowledge gaps by ...

We evaluated whether citizen science–derived camera‐trap records can be used to characterize large‐scale activity patterns of a widely distributed mesocarnivore across heterogeneous landscapes. Using 821 independent iNaturalist records, we quantified activity across six major vegetation types in Mexico with kernel density estimation, circular ...
