Meiobenthos of Bays of Furugelm Island and Sivuchya Bight (Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Japan)
Russian Journal of Marine Biology, 2004The qualitative and quantitative composition of the meiobenthos was studied in two bays of Furugelm Island (Severnaya and Zapadnaya bays) and in Sivuchya Bight (Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Japan). The meiobenthos of the investigated bays was comprised of 13 taxonomic groups (order, class).

The spatiotemporal analysis of the bottom geomorphology in Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan
Oceanology, 2014Based on the shipboard measurements data, GTOPO1 and ASTER satellite information, GEBCO databases, and bathymetry maps, a digital elevation model encompassing the shelf of Peter the Great Bay of the Sea of Japan is constructed. By two-dimensional singular spectral analysis, the scale decomposition of the surface of the shelf relief is made into the ...

Mesoscale eddies in the area of peter the great bay according to satellite data
Izvestiya, Atmospheric and Oceanic Physics, 2013We have studied the characteristics of mesoscale eddies in the Peter the Great Bay and the adjacent area of the northwestern Sea of Japan. The characteristics were determined using infrared images (NOAA/AVHRR satellite data) for July–October periods of 2000–2004. It is established that anticyclonic eddies are always present in the indicated area, since

Red Algae of Peter the Great Bay as a Source of Arachidonic and Eicosapentaenoic Acids
Russian Journal of Marine Biology, 2004In order to find new sources of arachidonic (AA) and eicosapentaenoic (EPA) acids, the composition of fatty acids was studied and lipid concentrations were determined in the thalluses of 32 species of red algae from Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Japan. The greatest level of EPA and a small concentration of AA were registered in the thalluses of Corallina
