Influence of carbon fiber reinforcement on the shape memory characteristics and mechanical properties of PETG

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters
Four-dimensional (4D) printing enables additively manufactured components to undergo programmed shape change, yet applications remain limited by the trade-off between shape-memory behavior and mechanical strength.

Seamless Mechanical Programming Through Hybrid Epoxy–Acrylate Printing for Soft–Rigid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Hybrid epoxy‐acrylate printing enables seamless fabrication of soft–rigid robotic systems with covalently integrated interfaces and functionally graded mechanics. Grayscale exposure expands the accessible material space, enabling spatially programmed actuation through patterned stiffness while revealing the mechanics and durability of continuously ...

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.

Stiffness‐Programmable Origami Robots With Tendon‐Driven Actuation via Multimaterial 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Motion diversity is achieved in a tendon‐driven origami robot through programmable stiffness rather than modified actuation. Multimaterial 3D printing embeds soft creases, modular inserts redirect identical tendon inputs into distinct behaviors, and variable‐stiffness inserts enable real‐time switching.

Investigating the Effect of ABS on the Mechanical Properties, Morphology, Printability, and 4D Printing of PETG‐ABS Blends

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering
In this study, Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) with three different ratios of 30%, 50%, and 70% is used to enhance the shape memory and mechanical properties of Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG).

WorMa: An Undulatory Robot With Center of Mass Regulation via Internal Fluid Redistribution for Amphibious Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
WorMa is an amphibious undulatory robot that uses Center of Mass redistribution as the sole terrain adaptation mechanism. This mechanism is based on internal fluid mass redistribution through a pump‐driven latex balloon system that creates three profiles: head‐biased, balanced, and tail‐biased.

The influence of the raster angle on the dimensional accuracy of FDM-printed PLA, PETG, and ABS tensile specimens

open access: yesEuropean Mechanical Science
3D printing is a rapidly advancing method in digital manufacturing techniques and produces objects in layers. Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is a 3D printing technology where the material is melted in a hot nozzle and then placed on a build platform to
