Abstract Deciphering Earth's earliest geodynamic processes requires temporally constrained chemical and structural data from rare exposures of ancient rocks. One of the most well‐studied of these exposures is the Acasta Gneiss Complex (AGC) in the Northwest Territories, Canada, which contains the oldest known felsic rocks on Earth.

Petrochronology of zircon and monazite in migmatites: structural, textural and geochemical controls in the amphibolite-granulite transition [PDF]

Abstract A striking feature of the Imilchil alkaline province, in the Moroccan Central High Atlas, is the close association of magmatic intrusions with Triassic sediments exhumed by diapirism. This study reports field, petrographic, geochemical and Sr‐Nd isotopic data, as well as new U‐Pb zircon ages, which allow us to constrain the timing of the ...

Magmatic and hydrothermal systems are intimately linked, significantly overlapping through time but persisting in different parts of a system. New preliminary U-Pb and trace element petrochronology from zircon and titanite demonstrate the protracted and ...

Strain localization north of the Denali fault: a monazite petrochronology and metamorphic petrology case study in the eastern Alaska Range [PDF]
The Denali fault in the eastern Alaska Range has been active as a dextral strike slip fault since at least 52 Ma. The high-grade metamorphic rocks to the north of the fault—the field area of this study—offer a unique view into the middle to lower crust ...

ABSTRACT The pressure–temperature–time (P–T–t) evolution of a metapelitic ultrahigh‐temperature (UHT) granulite from Rundvågshetta (Lützow–Holm Complex, East Antarctica) and chemical evolution of partial melt during the prograde metamorphism up to UHT metamorphism are studied in detail.

Petrochronology of Accessory Minerals in relation to Metamorphism and Fluid-Flow across the Albany-Fraser Orogen and Eucla Basement, Western Australia [PDF]
Petrochronology of uranium-bearing accessory minerals (zircon, monazite, rutile and titanite) across the Albany-Fraser Orogen and Eucla basement was undertaken to provide insight into transient metamorphism and fluid-flow events and their link to ...

Abstract Detailed geochronology from two compositionally distinct generations of dikes and sills intruded into the Alta metamorphic aureole, north‐central Utah, complement previous geochronologic studies from the Alta stock, providing information on the timing of magmatism and the nature of emplacement.

Structural analysis and titanite U-Pb petrochronology of major Sveconorwegian shear zones in Telemark, southern Norway [PDF]
