How the Sima de los Huesos was won
Abstract Although the first discovery of a human fossil in the Sima de los Huesos took place in 1976, systematic excavations did not begin there until 1984. Since then, this site has been continuously excavated in month‐long camps. The site is dated by different radiometric techniques to between 430,000 and 300,000 years ago.

Volcanic Unrest After the 2021 Eruption of La Palma
Abstract La Palma, Canary Islands, had its largest historical eruption in 2021. From January 2022 to May 2023 there were >2,100 seismic events, primarily at depths ≤20 km, prompting us to update the deformation and modeling study, using interferometric synthetic aperture radar observations and a last generation interpretation tool.

Magmatic Storage and Volatile Fluxes of the 2021 La Palma Eruption
Abstract The 2021 La Palma eruption (Tajogaite) was unprecedented in magnitude, duration, and degree of monitoring compared to historical volcanism on La Palma. Here, we provide data on melt inclusions in samples from the beginning and end of the eruption to compare the utility of both melt and fluid inclusions as recorders of magma storage.

Abstract Agricultural run‐off exposes recipient water bodies to nitrate (NO3−) pollution. Biological denitrification is a suitable method for removing NO3− in water resources that can be induced by the use of industrial organic liquid waste as an electron donor source.

The 2021 La Palma eruption: social dilemmas resulting from life close to an active volcano
Damage and destruction caused by the 2021 eruption of the Tajogaite volcano on La Palma was unprecedented relative to other historical eruptions of the last century (1909, 1949, 1971, 2011) in the Canary Islands. The devastation caused by the eruption was not a result of eruption magnitude, which was only marginally larger than other historical events,

Abstract Metamorphic basements are usually considered rigid and isotropic at a large scale. However, basements contain inherited weaknesses that may potentially accommodate superimposed contraction (e.g., fault reactivation), and that favor fold nucleation (e.g., penetrative foliations).

Abstract This study describes the development and characterization of novel composite scaffolds, made of an alginate‐chitosan hydrogel matrix containing eggshell (ES) particles, for bone tissue engineering applications. Scaffolds with ES particles, either untreated or treated with phosphoric acid to create a nanotextured particle surface, were compared

Relaciones entre porosidad, contenido en arcillas y durabilidad de areniscas
The petrographical characterization of three spanish sandstones from Villamayor (Salamanca), Somió and Tazones (Asturias) is presented. The significance of the percentage and type of the clay minerals cementing the grains on the pore system geometry, for
