Volcanic Unrest After the 2021 Eruption of La Palma
Abstract La Palma, Canary Islands, had its largest historical eruption in 2021. From January 2022 to May 2023 there were >2,100 seismic events, primarily at depths ≤20 km, prompting us to update the deformation and modeling study, using interferometric synthetic aperture radar observations and a last generation interpretation tool.

Reactivity of laser-cleaned stones to a SO2 ageing test
In order to study the reaction or susceptibility of Nd:YAG laser cleaned stones to polluted atmospheres, several types of stone, both cemented (limestone) and crystalline (marble, granite), were exposed to an atmosphere having simulated SO2 pollution ...

Magmatic Storage and Volatile Fluxes of the 2021 La Palma Eruption
Abstract The 2021 La Palma eruption (Tajogaite) was unprecedented in magnitude, duration, and degree of monitoring compared to historical volcanism on La Palma. Here, we provide data on melt inclusions in samples from the beginning and end of the eruption to compare the utility of both melt and fluid inclusions as recorders of magma storage.

Abstract Agricultural run‐off exposes recipient water bodies to nitrate (NO3−) pollution. Biological denitrification is a suitable method for removing NO3− in water resources that can be induced by the use of industrial organic liquid waste as an electron donor source.

Ornamental granite durability: evaluation of damage caused by salt crystallization
The salt crystallization test is used to evaluate damage caused by soluble salts that penetrate stone and subsequently crystallize in its voids (pores or cracks). The present article discusses the findings for four ornamental granites (gris alba, grissal,

The 2021 La Palma eruption: social dilemmas resulting from life close to an active volcano
Damage and destruction caused by the 2021 eruption of the Tajogaite volcano on La Palma was unprecedented relative to other historical eruptions of the last century (1909, 1949, 1971, 2011) in the Canary Islands. The devastation caused by the eruption was not a result of eruption magnitude, which was only marginally larger than other historical events,
