Charnockites with 2691–2607 Ma magmatic ages from the NMZ show arc‐magmatic geochemical signatures. They correspond to the lower‐crustal equivalent of the Chilimanzi Suite Granite in the Zimbabwe Craton. Lu‐Hf isotopic data of magmatic zircons show negative εHf(t) values (−11.18 to −2.20) with TDMC ages of 3699–3158 Ma, suggesting their protolith ...

Mesozoic–Cenozoic Thermochronology of the Tarim–Southern Tianshan System, NW China
Tectonothermal history of the Tarim–Southern Tianshan system compared with the major tectonic events at far‐field plate margins. ABSTRACT The Tarim Basin, an oil‐bearing basin in northwest China, is tectonically and sedimentologically linked to the Southern Tianshan Orogenic Belt.

Thermochemical stability of low-iron, manganese-enriched olivine in astrophysical environments [PDF]
Low-iron, manganese-enriched (LIME) olivine grains are found in cometary samples returned by the Stardust mission from comet 81P/Wild 2. Similar grains are found in primitive meteoritic clasts and unequilibrated meteorite matrix.

Abstract The sedimentary succession at Whittlesey preserves a unique British late Middle Pleistocene to Holocene record back to a time equivalent to at least marine oxygen isotope stage 8 (ca. 250 ka). This study builds on previously published sedimentology, geochronology and palaeoecology results to establish 20 sedimentary facies associations, with ...

The pioneer work of Bernard Kübler and Martin Frey in very low-grade metamorphic terranes: paleo-geothermal potential of variation in Kübler-Index/organic matter reflectance correlations. A review [PDF]
Low-temperature metamorphic petrology occupies the P-T field between sedimentary and metamorphic petrology. Two important pillars of low-temperature metamorphism are coal petrology and clay mineralogy.
