Perfluorooctane sulfonate affects intestinal immunity against bacterial infection

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is an environmental contaminant that has been manufactured to be used as surfactants and repellents in industry. Due to long half-life for clearance and degradation, PFOS is accumulative in human body and has potential ...

The phosphorylation of Smad3 by CaMKIIγ leads to the hepatocyte pyroptosis under perfluorooctane sulfonate exposure

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent organic pollutant and accumulated in the liver of mammals. PFOS exposure is closely associated with the development of pyroptosis. Nevertheless, the underlying mechanism is unclear. We found here that PFOS

Highly Efficient Extraction of 212 Pb/212Bi from the Decay Chain of 232Th‐Based on Anion Exchange in Bromide Medium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work provides an effective strategy for selectively extracting 212Pb and 212Bi from the decay chain of 232Th as well as its mechanism illustration. Using the novel strategy, 2.07 MBq of 212Pb is successfully separated from 232Th and its daughters, which enables the supply of 212Pb/212Bi directly from the abundant natural thorium resource to be ...

Screening of Potential PFOS Alternatives To Decrease Liver Bioaccumulation: Experimental and Computational Approaches.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2019
Perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent organic pollutant with significant bioaccumulation potential in liver tissues. Exposure to PFOS could cause increase of liver weight, induce adenomas of the liver, and cause hepatomegaly.

Delocalized Charge Transport in Thermoelectric Composites of Semiconducting Carbon Nanotubes Wrapped with a P‐Type Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Composites made of semiconducting carbon nanotubes and p‐type polymers, when adequately doped with molecular dopants, can exhibit highly delocalized charge carrier transport, showing high thermoelectric performances. The efficient charge delocalization is enabled by the reduced coulombic binding energy at high carrier concentration and the small ...
