The pH Response of a Peptoid Oligomer
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2023Polypeptoids are N-substituted glycine polymers, which differ from peptides in the placement of the side chain on the amide nitrogen rather than the Cα carbon. A peptoid with a chiral side chain containing both an aromatic group and carboxylic acid has a structure that responds to pH changes.

Pulsating pH-Responsive Nanogels
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2006A novel method is presented for the design of robust, sustained nanochemomechanical oscillators. The approach is based on the switching of chemoresponsive nanogel beads between their collapsed and swollen state by coupling them to an appropriately chosen nonlinear reaction.

Novel pH-Responsive Nanoparticles
Langmuir, 2008In this work we report a new type of pH-responsive micelle-like nanoparticle. Reversible nanoscale structures are formed in solutions of a pH-sensitive hydrophobic polyelectrolyte, poly( N-methacryloyl- l-valine) or poly( N-methacryloyl- l-phenylalanine), and nonionic surfactant (Brij 98) in the presence of hydrochloric acid.

Protein Vesicles with pH-Responsive Disassembly
Biomacromolecules, 2022Protein biomaterials offer several advantages over those made from other components because their amino acid sequence can be precisely controlled with genetic engineering to produce a diverse set of material building blocks. In this work, three different elastin-like polypeptide (ELP) sequences were designed to synthesize pH-responsive protein vesicles.

The potential of pH-sensitive paramagnetic liposomes as a probe for monitoring acidic pH in tumours with magnetic resonance imaging has recently been demonstrated. If the blood retention time is prolonged, such liposomes can accumulate in tumour interstitium due to increased vascular permeability and interstitial retention.

pH‐Responsive Protein Conformation Transistor
Angewandte Chemie, 2023AbstractAnalogous to electronic transistors, transistor‐like responsive materials undergo sharp structural transitions in response to a very narrow range of microenvironment signals. This kind of material is typically limited to synthetic polymer‐derived nanoscale assembly or disassembly and has profound implications for modern high‐tech applications ...

pH-Responsive branched polymer nanoparticles
Soft Matter, 2008We describe a new one-pot, single-step route for the preparation of pH-responsive branched polymer nanoparticles. These polymers, which are based on the pH-responsive monomer 2-(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DEA) and hydrophilic macromonomer poly(ethyleneglycol) methacrylate (PEGMA), are synthesised using a modified conventional free-radical ...

pH responsive graft copolymers of chitosan
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2016Grafting suitable polymers onto chitosan can produce cationic or polyampholyte polymers or hydrogels that are potential smart biomedical materials. Chitosan-graft-[poly(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate] has been prepared in three different physical forms as linear free chains in solution, chemical gels crosslinked with glutaraldehyde, and poly ...
