Qualitative Real-Time PCR SYBR Green Detection of Petri Disease Fungi

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2004
Real-time PCR provides a fast, reliable, and cost-effective method for detecting the presence or absence of Petri disease fungi in grapevines. The primer pairs, Pmo1f + Pmo2r, and Pac1f + Pac2r, were designed for species and genus-specific amplification ...

Pathogenicity of Phaeoacremonium aleophilum and Phaeomoniella chlamydospora on Grape Berries in California

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2004
Injured and non-injured grape berries were inoculated with spore suspension of Phaeomoniella chlamydospora or Phaeoacremonium aleophilum under field (intact berries) and laboratory (detached berries) conditions. In one test, berries were injured by pricking the skin with a syringe needle to a depth of approximately 1.5 mm.

Stilbene polyphenols in the brown red wood of Vitis vinifera cv. Sangiovese affected by "esca proper"*

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2011
A number of stilbene polyphenols, dimers, trimers and tetramers of resveratrol (viniferins), which are typical Vitaceae metabolites, were extracted from asymptomatic wood (AW) and symptomatic brown-reddiscoloured wood (BRW) of Vitis vinifera cv ...

Applications of Trichoderma to prevent Phaeomoniella chlamydospora infections in organic nurseries [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to prevent or reduce infection in grapevine nurseries, greenhouse and nursery trials were carried out to evaluate the effects of Trichoderma harzianum (Rootshield\u27) on the morpho-physiological characteristics of grapevine and on Phaeomoniella

Transformation of Fungal Grapevine Trunk Disease Pathogens with the Green Fluorescent Protein Gene

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2005
Eutypa lata and Phaeomoniella chlamydospora are important fungal grapevine trunk disease pathogens. Studies of their epidemiology and disease progression are hampered by the slow growth rates of the fungi and a lack of molecular tools. A protoplast-based

Changes in plant metabolism and accumulation of fungal metabolites in response to Esca proper and apoplexy expression in the whole grapevine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Trunk diseases have become among the most important grapevine diseases worldwide. They are caused by fungal pathogens that attack the permanent woody structure of the vines and cause various symptoms in woody and annual organs.

A review of Phaeoacremonium Species Involved in Petri Disease and Esca of Grapevines

open access: yesPhytopathologia Mediterranea, 2006
The current status of Phaeoacremonium species involved in Petri disease and esca is reviewed. The taxonomical position and classification of Phaeoacremonium as well as its teleomorph, Togninia, are discussed.
