Biometric Identity Based on Intra-Body Communication Channel Characteristics and Machine Learning
In this paper, we propose and validate using the Intra-body communications channel as a biometric identity. Combining experimental measurements collected from five subjects and two multi-layer tissue mimicking materials’ phantoms, different machine

Sensitivity to strong odors has a broad differential diagnosis. A presentation is made of a 60-year-old man with lifelong mild allergic rhinitis and a superimposed 4-year history of sensitivity to smells. He had no response to medical treatments or allergic immunotherapy. His physical examination was unremarkable.

A feasible and automatic free tool for T1 and ECV mapping [PDF]
Purpose: Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is a useful non-invasive tool for characterizing tissues and detecting myocardial fibrosis and edema. Estimation of extracellular volume fraction (ECV) using T1 sequences is emerging as an accurate biomarker in ...

Separation-based model for low-dose CT image denoising
Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) image often contains mottle noise and streak artefacts, which seriously interfere with clinical diagnosis. In this study, the separation-based (SEPB) method is proposed for mottle noise and streak artefacts suppression

A parametric level-set method for partially discrete tomography [PDF]
This paper introduces a parametric level-set method for tomographic reconstruction of partially discrete images. Such images consist of a continuously varying background and an anomaly with a constant (known) grey-value.

Complementary Phenomena: Phantom Hand and Phantom Face
After tissue or limb loss, the development of sensation and perception of the lost or deafferent tissue is defined as a phantom phenomenon. We investigated the presence of phantom phenomena in individuals who underwent a full face transplant as well as those who had a hand transplant.
