Development of a blood oxygenation phantom for photoacoustic tomography combined with online pO2 detection and flow spectrometry [PDF]
Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is intrinsically sensitive to blood oxygen saturation (sO2) in vivo. However, making accurate sO2 measurements without knowledge of tissue- and instrumentation-related correction factors is extremely challenging. We have developed a low-cost flow phantom system to facilitate validation of photoacoustic tomography systems.

Design of Anisotropic Diffusion Hardware Fiber Phantoms [PDF]
A gold standard for the validation of diffusion weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in brain white matter (WM) is essential for clinical purposes but still not available.

As a major application domain of vascular ultrasound, the carotid artery has long been the subject of anthropomorphic phantom design. It is nevertheless not trivial to develop walled carotid phantoms that are compatible for use in integrative imaging of ...

The exact solutions of electrically charged phantom black holes with the cosmological constant are constructed. They are labelled by the mass, the electrical charge, the cosmological constant and the coupling constant between the phantom and the Maxwell field. It is found that the phantom has important consequences on the properties of black holes.

A feasible and automatic free tool for T1 and ECV mapping [PDF]
Purpose: Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is a useful non-invasive tool for characterizing tissues and detecting myocardial fibrosis and edema. Estimation of extracellular volume fraction (ECV) using T1 sequences is emerging as an accurate biomarker in ...

Can Phantom-Dominated Universe Decelerate Also in Future ? [PDF]
Here Randall-Sundrum brane-gravity models of the homogeneous and flat universe, dominated by phantom fluid, is considered. It is noted that brane-gravity corrections effect the behaviour of phantom fluid in RS-II model (where brane-tension $\lambda$ is negative) drastically.

Brain-Blood Partition Coefficient and Cerebral Blood Flow in Canines Using Calibrated Short TR Recovery (CaSTRR) Correction Method. [PDF]
The brain-blood partition coefficient (BBPC) is necessary for quantifying cerebral blood flow (CBF) when using tracer based techniques like arterial spin labeling (ASL).

Geometrically complex 3D-printed phantoms for diffuse optical imaging
Tissue-equivalent phantoms that mimic the optical properties of human and animal tissues are commonly used in diffuse optical imaging research to characterize instrumentation or evaluate an image reconstruction method.
