Citywide pharmaceutical preparation for bioterrorism

American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2001
One community's efforts to become pharmaceutically prepared for an attack with biological agents is described. In response to recent bioterrorist activities, including a local scare in 1999 involving anthrax, the pharmacy department at Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, was asked to develop a plan for bioterrorism preparedness.

CZE determination of somatostatin in pharmaceutical preparations

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2000
We propose a simple and accurate method for CE quantitative determination of somatostatin in pharmaceutical preparations. The method is specific for somatostatin as indicated by the resolution between the analyte and the analogue peptides which differ from somatostatin by one aminoacid. The linearity range is from 0.02 to 0.35 mg/ml.

Preparation of Gelatin Nanocapsules and Their Pharmaceutical Characterization

Pharmaceutical Research, 1985
A production process is described that yields nanocapsules instead of nanoparticles. The process allows the encapsulation of lipophilic drugs such as triamcinolone acetonide with an O/W emulsion system. The capsular structure of the products was confirmed by transmission and scanning electron microscopy.

Determination of Reserpine in Pharmaceutical Preparations*

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1955
A method of assay for reserpine in pharmaceutical preparations is described. By this method the small amounts of reserpine usually found in commercially available fluid or dry formulations can be determined. A second step is included to indicate the extent of hydrolysis of reserpine which may occur in the presence of moisture.

Determination of acetylglutamine in pharmaceutical preparations

The Analyst, 1968
A colorimetric method for the quantitative determination of acetylglutamine, after acid hydrolysis, is proposed. An ion-exchange chromatographic procedure is described for the elimination of interfering substances in pharmaceutical preparations.

Preservatives in liquid pharmaceutical preparations

Drug Testing and Analysis, 2009
Sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, and methyl hydroxybenzoate are commonly used as preservatives in liquid pharmaceutical preparations. The purpose of this study is to determine the amount of the aforementioned preservatives in pharmaceutical products, as some recent studies have reported serious side effects associated with the ingestion of these ...

Transgenic Rabbits to Prepare Pharmaceutical Proteins

2009
The preparation of recombinant pharmaceutical proteins is one of the major challenges of biotechnology. Mammalian cells are required for a number of proteins which must be modified posttranscriptionally. Animal cell lines cultured in fermentors are presently the major source of complex proteins.

Benzocaine Determination in Pharmaceutical Preparations

Analytical Letters, 1982
Abstract A new sensitive method for rapid and accurate determination of benzocaine via hydroxamic acid formation is described. The solution of hydroxylamine hydrochloride is reacted with benzocaine in alkaline medium to give corresponding hydroxamic acid (II) which forms the purple coloured complex with FeCl3 in acidic medium, having a maximum ...
