Obesity is a chronic metabolic disorder that affects one third of American adults. Modest weight losses of just 5% to 10% of body weight, which are achievable with lifestyle modification and pharmacotherapy, can lead to remarkable improvements in many obesity-associated co-morbidities, including dyslipidemia, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes.

Pharmacotherapy of Dyslipidemia
Cardiovascular Drugs and Therapy, 2001Reducing elevated levels of low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) significantly reduces the incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD) events and mortality in hypercholesterolemic patients. CHD risk reduction is proportional to LDL-C reduction. Despite this knowledge, many physicians are not applying existing treatment guidelines to the extent ...

The pharmacotherapy of pulpitis
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1962Abstract We have discussed the possibility of applying pharmacotherapy in pulpitis by means of a combination of highly potent corticoids, antibiotics, and local anesthetics. Tinnitus is a common symptom for which there is in most cases no causal therapy. The search for an improvement of tinnitus through pharmacological interventions has a long tradition. The observation that tinnitus can be transiently suppressed by the use of lidocaine has shown that the symptom is susceptible to pharmacotherapy.
