A novel top-down fabrication process for Ge2Sb2Te5 phase change material nanowires

open access: yes, 2013
A novel e-beam free, top-down spacer etch process was used to fabricate sub-hundred nanometer Ge2Sb2Te5 phase change nanowires. Naowires with a cross-section dimension of 50 nm × 100 nm (width × height) were obtained and phase change functionality ...

Photoelectromagnetic multimode triggered phase change materials for thermotherapy

open access: yesSusMat
Neither pristine phase change materials (PCMs) nor metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) can be driven by optical/electrical/magnetic triggers for multiple energy conversion and thermal storage, which cannot satisfy the requirements of multi‐scenario ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Numerical investigations of heat transfer in phase change materials using non-equilibrium model [PDF]

open access: yes
Phase change materials (PCMs) are drawing increasing attention of researchers nowadays, and they play a pivotal role in thermal energy storage (TES) used in renewable energy resources applications, since these renewable energy, such as solar energy ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Transient Phase-Change Effect in Phase-Change Memory Devices

open access: yes, 2009
Phase-change random access memory (PCRAM) is one of the next-generation memories with the most potential due to its many good characteristics, such as nonvolatility, high endurance and long data retention. PCRAM has the potential to replace flash memory,
