Phase-Field Simulation for Non-isothermal Solidification of Al-Cu Binary Alloy [PDF]
Based on the principle of dilute solution approximation, a phase field model for dendritic growth during the non-isothermal solidification process was proposed by coupling the phase field, concentration field and temperature field, and was adopted to ...

Phase Field Simulations of Microstructures in Porous Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloy Ni2MnGa
The magnetic domain structures and martensite microstructures of porous Ni2MnGa Heusler alloys with various circle-shaped and ellipse-shaped pores were systematically studied by the phase field method.

An Unsteady Model for Aircraft Icing Based on Tightly-Coupled Method and Phase-Field Method
An unsteady tightly-coupled icing model is established in this paper to solve the numerical simulation problem of unsteady aircraft icing. The multi-media fluid of air and droplets is regarded as a single medium fluid with variable material properties ...

Phase Field Methods and Dislocationss
We present a general formalism for incorporating dislocations in Phas Field methods. This formalism is based on the elastic equiva;ence betweem a dislocation loop and a platelet inclusion of specific stress-free strain related to the loop Burgers vector and normal.

Phase-field modelling for atoms [PDF]
The application of phase-field modelling has been expanded into smaller and smaller-scale phenomena. However, phase-field modelling with a single atomic resolution has not been proposed so far.

Phase-field modeling of frost propagation of cracks for rock mass under frost action
As the rock masses in cold regions freeze, water in cracks turns into ice and expands in volume, and the mechanical interaction between ice and rock may lead to the frost propagation of cracks.

A practical phase field method for an elliptic surface PDE [PDF]
Abstract We consider a diffuse interface approach for solving an elliptic PDE on a given closed hypersurface. The method is based on a (bulk) finite element scheme employing numerical quadrature for the phase field function and hence is very easy to implement compared to other approaches.
