Optical phase-shift-keyed transmission
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2005Differential-phase-shift keying (DPSK) has recently been used to reach record distances in long-haul lightwave communication systems. This paper will review theoretical, as well as implementation, aspects of DPSK, and discuss experimental results.

Differential phase-shift quantum key distribution
SPIE Proceedings, 2002A novel quantum cryptography scheme is proposed, in which a single photon is prepared in a linear superposition state of three basis kets. A photon split to three pulses is sent from Alice to Bob, where the phase difference between sequential two pulses carries bit information.

Differential-phase-shift quantum key distribution
SPIE Proceedings, 2006A novel type of quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol called differential-phase-shift (DPS) QKD is described. It utilizes a weak coherent pulse train instead of individual photons as in conventional QKD.

Differential phase shift quantum key distribution
2008 First ITU-T Kaleidoscope Academic Conference - Innovations in NGN: Future Network and Services, 2008Quantum-key distribution has been studied as an ultimate method for secure communications, and now it is emerging as a technology that can be deployed in real fiber networks. Here, we present our QKD experiments based on the differential- phase-shift QKD protocol.

Wideband acoustic communication using quadrature-phase shift keying and eight-phase shift keying
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006In JAMSTEC, a short-range (up to 500 m) high-speed acoustic communication system for deep sea environment has been investigating. To widen a bandwidth, the new wideband projector was developed. It consists of two transducer elements and has a toroidal beam pattern.

Skewed differential phase shift keying
Proceedings of ICCS '94, 2002We provide theoretical formulations of the performance of skewed differential phase shift keying in Gaussian and Rayleigh fading channels. The analytical performance of the modem is compared with computer simulations and is found to corroborate well. >

Quadrature-quadrature phase-shift keying
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1989Quadrature-quadrature phase-shift keying (Q/sup 2/PSK) is a spectrally efficient modulation scheme which utilizes available signal space dimensions in a more efficient way than two-dimensional schemes such as QPSK and MSK (minimum-shift keying). It uses two date shaping pulses and two carriers, which are pairwise quadrature in phase, to create a four ...

Hyper Phase Shift Keying (HPSK) Modulation
2007 Conference Record of the Forty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2007A new modulation technique that uses four orthonormal basis functions is proposed. Using four orthonormal basis functions provides an advantage over most traditional modulation techniques such as quadrature phase shift keying and quadrature amplitude modulation that only possess two degrees of freedom.

Pseudo-coherent phase shift keyed demodulator
International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003A PSK (phase-shift keyed) demodulator that combines many of the advantages of coherent and noncoherent demodulators is described. It has the structure of a typical coherent demodulator, but it has no carrier recovery function, using instead an instantaneous estimate of the carrier; hence the name pseudo-coherent is used.
